Violin finger placement is very important to success on the violin. If you don't have your fingers in the right spot, you will be out of tune, and sound bad. The closer you can get your violin finger positions correct the better you will sound. Violin finger exercises are very helpful to get yourself setup correctly when playing the violin. Having your knuckles in high enough position, and also having your wrist straight will aid in finding violin finger positions. In this video we show you a drill for the left hand that will help you get your fingers moving before you start your practice session.

You can place stickers on the violin finger board that will help you know where to place notes. There are also other tools like "finger finders" that can stick onto the fingerboard to show you where to put each finger. Once you understand where to put these fingers, then it is recommended to watch this video to get a great warm-up to using each and every finger when you play the violin. -
