A CONSERVATIONISTS CRY - by PHASA

Описание к видео A CONSERVATIONISTS CRY - by PHASA

The voices of African private game custodians and the facts about how wildlife has flourished in their care.
Consider the decline of wildlife populations in countries where hunting or consumptive use of wildlife by local people is banned.

Although this video does not pertain to rhinos only and although rhino hunts in South Africa are minimal, we urge you to consider:
- that even if you object to hunting; even if you do not agree with the views of these people; we all agree that it is the wildlife - the trees, birds, mammales, reptiles, fish, grasses, insects and all the other species that do not have a 'donate now!' campaign behind them - that matters. Finding conservation-based solutions to an ever-larger human-animal conflict pool is our ultimate goal
- the work and dedication of private rhino custodians in keeping their rhinos safe from poachers
- the fact that private game reserves in SA collectively hold and preserve more indigenous, conservation land than all the national reserves put together. These pockets of protected bushveld are critical for conservation of ALL species and not just the iconic ones
- the fact that private game reserve owners have chosen to immerse themselves in this lifestyle. They generally speak the local languages, employ people from surrounding communities and provide all the capital and running costs for these mini reserves
- the fact that their greatest critics are people who do not own or preserve any conservation areas and that do not understand or appreciate the complex dynamics of conservation which involves preservation of habitats, ecosystems and land while balancing the needs of and livelihoods of humans within these areas
