Cutting Fluids for the Metal Shop-Some conventional, some not so much

Описание к видео Cutting Fluids for the Metal Shop-Some conventional, some not so much

Cutting fluids is a really common subject of debate. My two cents on the matter basically boils down to the idea that something is better than nothing, and if it's cheap, use a lot. Coconut oil (the solid waxy stuff) is a good lubricant on its own and is what I am transitioning to. For saftey reasons (i.e. not entangling ones fingers in the spinny bits) I like long nosed oil cans. For that reason I have been using coconut oil dissolved into bar and chain oil so it can be pumped. In the future I may just buy the liquid form. Wax based stick lubes are also an excellent product that are great for general purpose work and have only minor clean up requirements.

As noted in the video, this is not a one size fits all solution so you will have to make your own decisions on what works for you!
