Today I want to teach you how to choose your watercolor paper by doing art product reviews. I’m taking a high quality watercolor paper and a cheap watercolor paper and putting them through a series of tests. I’m still rather new to watercolor but I wanted to find what I consider the top watercolor paper.

And while I maybe newer to watercolor I’m no stranger to art. And as an artist getting into a new medium the auto response is one of two things: what best or what is the cheapest? And in this video I think I answer both. I explore the best cheap watercolor paper and how 100% cotton paper acts in comparison.

I’m familiar with 2 of the brands in this watercolor paper comparison, canson and strathmore paper. So at times this felt more like a starthmore vs canson review but you be surprised by my pick for the best watercolor paper. Doing this experiment I didn’t think I would see watercolor paper differences between the two medium range papers but the tests I applied revealed a lot.
