After Manny discovers that her University demo reel is actually a sex tape that she and Jay made, her future hangs in the balance. By the time Jay catches up to her with the correct DVD, it's too late. Manny's already bombed her audition for Smithdale Drama School, so she throws away their fake engagement ring and tells Jay to get out of her life for good. While everyone enjoys their roadtrip adventure, Jay hatches an awesome plan to get Manny into her program and to get back into her heart. Peter and Darcy quickly discover that it’s anything but fun and games at Brat Camp. Through hard lessons of discipline, and rigorous self-respect building exercises, Darcy discovers an inner strength she never knew she had.

Season Seven of Degrassi: The Next Generation will venture into new and more provocative territory for adolescents and young adults, as it picks up in the middle of a school year already riddled with tragedy. A fire at Lakehurst, the school of JT's killer, forces many of its students into the halls of Degrassi with explosive results. Amidst the newfound clutter and chaos, Spinner and Darcy deal with dark, personal tragedies, Jimmy and Ashley test their love, and Emma and Manny explore new, surprising relationships - all while hurtling toward graduation. New students struggle to find their places in the school, leading to violence and tears, but also healthy competition and new friendships. At the university house, the gang gets a new roommate, and strays further from the safety of Degrassi. Ellie and Marco discover that exploring their new freedom comes with dire consequences, while Paige, fresh from flaming out of school, gets a great new job, but learns quickly the demands of the real world.
