An adult literacy tutor and an adult literacy student demonstrate a comprehension monitoring strategy called a Think Aloud to develop metacognition and improve reading comprehension. To demonstrate the Think Aloud, they show the “You Do” portion of a strategy called, “I Do”, “We Do” and “You Do”. The student practices the Think Aloud strategy independently with the tutor providing support as needed.
