The success stories of USMID - Fixing the road network burden in cities

Lira City is one of the urban centers that began receiving support under USMID in 2013 under the administration of Lira Municipality. The municipality had a challenge with their road network ranging from limited paved roads and the paved ones had deteriorated with pass ability challenges. some bad spots had become serious points of insecurity as wrong elements would use the bad spots to waylay road users.
While in Moroto municipality in Karamoja subregion the USMID projects have helped to boost the night economy with a number of good roads, solar street lights and a well-built bus and taxi terminals that have enabled people to work until late hours.
