Bishop Joseph R. Kopacz of the Diocese of Jackson joins bishops from around the world for the Holy Land Co-ordination, a pastoral gathering in and around Jerusalem taking place January 17–21, 2026.

Inspired by the Church’s recent Jubilee Year, the theme of this year’s visit is “A Land of Promise: Encounter and Dialogue with People of Hope.” Rooted in prayer, reflection, and attentive listening, the Holy Land Co-ordination brings bishops together to support and accompany the Christian communities of the Holy Land — often described as the Living Stones of the Church.

Each day is shaped by the celebration of the Eucharist and includes meetings with representatives of the local Church, pastoral visits, and encounters with communities living amid ongoing challenges. Bishops participating represent Episcopal Conferences from Europe and North America, alongside delegates from the Anglican Church and Catholic organizations serving the region.

Through this pilgrimage of faith, Bishop Kopacz carries the prayers and solidarity of the Diocese of Jackson to the land where Christianity was born, while listening closely to the hopes and witness of those who continue to live the Gospel there today.
