Diljit Dosanjh just finished his India's tour of Diluminati Tour. The tour was full of controversies and one controversy which arose was when he used 'PANJAB' in his tweets and merchandise instead of the conventional PUNJAB spellings. Many people linked this with Khal*stani demands and that Diljit is Anti-National.
In this, I talk about the historical context and facts surrounding Punjab and Panjab. How the word is made of two words, which means the Land of 5 Rivers. It was British who had problem in the Hindi pronunciation which lead to it being called Punjab, instead of Panjab. The spellings are so fluid that Lahore Punjab University uses the spelling "PUNJAB UNIVERSITY" and the one in Chandigarh uses "PANJAB UNIVERSITY".
