Even though it might seem like it with some of our recent videos, we're not fundamentally against foundations!

However, foundations by themselves will not help you get funded. To be an effective nonprofit leader, you need to diversify your portfolio! You should never put all your eggs in one basket, or put all your money in one place. You need to diversify!

We believe that there a few different tools in the nonprofit development strategy tool belt. The Perfect Vision Dinner is a tool in the tool belt, and so is direct mail, and major donors.

Foundations are another tool that we can use, but there are definitely a lot of misperceptions right now about foundations. And today, we want to debunk some of those myths.
