over you is gary puckett's forth consecutive gold disk and peaked at 7 on the billboard hot 100 and 5 on the u.s. cashbox charts in 1968.
the song also achieved international success being at number 3 on the canadian charts, 6 in australia and 17 in new zealand. it was also very popular in the far east.
the lyrics are beautiful to say the least and most appropriate for someone who has just come out of a one sided love affair. is it not heartbreaking to be in love with someone who doesn't respond?
gary puckett & the Union gap was formed in 1967 in sandiego california and lasted
for 4 years before the group was disbanded in 1971.
