The motor ship "Konstantin Korotkov" was built in 1976 in Germany according to project 301. This is a series of 22 ships built from 1975 to 1983 at the VEB Elbewerfen Boizenburg shipyard (Boizenburg, Germany) by order of the Ministry of the River Fleet of the RSFSR for operation on inland waterways THE USSR. The ship was put into operation on July 29, 1976.

After the construction, the ship was named "Soviet Ukraine" and entered the Volga Shipping Company, where it was assigned to Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod). The ship was a floating tourist base of the USSR Ministry of Defense and operated flights from Moscow to Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Astrakhan and other routes with the distribution of vouchers for the department.

In 1993, the ship was named "Konstantin Korotkov" - in honor of the head of the Volga United River Shipping Company in 1960-1984 Korotkov Konstantin Konstantinovich.

In 1994, during the voyage Samara - Astrakhan - Samara, the ship made the exit of the Volga Delta and the Caspian Sea. It was planned that in 1995 the ship would be used in the Caspian for a floating hotel and casino, but these plans were not implemented and until 2001 inclusive the ship operated cruises from Samara.

From 2004 to 2012 inclusive (except 2006), the ship operated flights between Moscow and St. Petersburg with foreign tourists (from the Volga-Flot-Tour company in 2002-2003 and from the Vodohod company in 2004-2012 ). In 2012, it was sold from the Volga Shipping Company to Vodokhod LLC. From 2013 to 2019 inclusive, he worked on flights with Russian tourists departing from St. Petersburg and then Nizhny Novgorod.

In the off-season period of 2019-2020, the ship "Konstantin Korotkov" underwent a complete refurbishment of passenger cabins and public spaces in order to increase their comfort, as it was planned that from 2020 the ship would start working with foreign tourists, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, inbound tourism in 2020 it stopped and the ship again began to work with Russian tourists.
