Razor and Blade Notes - Gillette - NEW Tech Hybrid ::: Gillette - Spoiler (12 uses):
A little tugginess on the first pass, but knocking down 4 days of growth can be that way sometimes.
Otherwise great. Comfy. Very close shave, with the 3rd pass almost cursory, and an opportunity to focus on just the right razor angle to get the last super tiny bits.
Razor and Blade Performance/Comfort Rating: 3 out of 5 (Good)
Soap Notes - 345 Soap Co - General Patton:
Them: "In what seems like a lifetime ago, I was in the 82nd Airborne. So we wanted to do something special for the August soap, General Patton. Our namesake. A long time ago my late grandfather said that somewhere down the line uncle George and I were related. One day I'll make that lineage. We will be donating 10% of all General Patton sales in August to them."
Scent notes: Tonka bean, amber, powder, guaiac wood, cedar, sandalwood, dash of vanilla. "This is a warm, complex scent. A scent of Victory!"
345 also says, "We wanted to give back to those that have served our great nation, and the charity ‘Mission 22’ would be a great place to start. Their mission is to help all veterans with suicide prevention, and any mental health help that they need."
Scent: My first use of this one was a blind one, and I picked up the amber and tonka type scent, and woodiness. I also thought I got some leather, but I guess it was something else. I can see how there was a touch of vanilla in there, but it wasn't much, and didn't feel food-like at all. Just right.
An at-home kind of warmth, and manliness, is the vibe I got from this soap. I enjoyed it a lot.
Lather: this lather similar to milksteak in feel and appearance, seemingly, with all it's butters and oils giving it a ... fuzzy kind (for lack of a better word) of slickness. I generally like a more pure kind of slickness, over this, however, this worked very well. It did start flying off the brush when I had it wet enough, but what stayed on my face was ultra slick and felt highly nourishing. Tremendous secondary slickness.
So it was able to maintain that perfect balance I go for: so wet that it's ultra slick, but still maintaining a light creaminess to give a sense of luxury and comfort.
Great for you dry-skin folks I'd imagine.
Hydration: Perfect (for me)
30 sec load with a Lightly-Wet brush
4.7 tsp added to make lather
= 5 passes of lather
Bowl: Roger Quintero 3D Printed Bowl
I use the XL version of this bowl.

Brush Notes - Zenith - r/wetshaving MOAR BOAR B35/508A XL (5 uses):
I can feel it getting softer, with the 2 gentle hair dryer treatements It has had since the last use a few days ago. Still lots of backbone.
Did not stir up any brush burn. And it sure looks like this guy is splayed just enough to not be killing lather during the shave any more. Which I think my break-in methods of long soaks and hair dryer has really sped up.
My other zenith with a similar but smaller knot, didn't start feeling this nice till 25 shaves or so... very unlike this one.
*Shave Quality*
During the Shave Feel:
Cheeks: Just a little tugging
Neck: Just a little tugging
After the Shave Closeness:
Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get
Neck: Cut flush to where I just see the tips (above average for me)

Wetshaving is the age-old shaving method where you create a lather from a soap or cream, usually with a brush. And these days, we also usually mean using a safety razor (aka double edge or DE) or single edge or straight razor to remove the hair. We often enjoy less irritated skin, healthier skin, more enjoyable shaves, and often closer shaves than those who use a multi-bladed cartridge and canned shaving foam.
