The Kudremukh ghat is a trek in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India that takes you through the Kudremukh National Park:
Location:
The Kudremukh ghat is in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, at the tri-junction of the Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Chikmagalur districts.
Features:
The Kudremukh ghat is a beautiful trek through rolling green hills, misty valleys, grasslands, forests, and small streams. The peak's distinctive shape resembles a horse's face, which is how it got its name.
Wildlife:
The Kudremukh ghat is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including deer, peacocks, Malabar trogon, Malabar whistling thrush, and imperial pigeon.
History:
The Kudremukh ghat has been a navigational aid for mariners for almost 2,000 years.
Entry fee:
The entry fee to the Kudremukh National Park is INR 200 for Indians and INR 1000 for foreign tourists.
Hours:
The park is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, and trekking is permitted from 6 AM to 5 PM.
