Utilization of kinnow waste as livestock feed

Описание к видео Utilization of kinnow waste as livestock feed

The kinnow waste (KW) constitutes 50% of kinnows used for juice and pulp extraction; and is made up of peels, seeds and residual pulp. It can be used fresh or after sun drying as a component of total mixed ration (TMR). The KW contains approximately 20% dry matter (DM) and 12% crude protein on DM basis. Fresh KW and wheat straw are mixed in 80:20 ratio (on fresh basis) and ensiled for 42 days. The KW-wheat straw silage can be incorporated in TMR @ 25% on DM basis. The sundried, ground KW can completely replace cereal grains, on CP basis, in the concentrate mixture and can be fed to animals after mixing with berseem (Trifolium alexandrium) hay in 50:50 ratio on DM basis. Kinnow peels contain approx. 7% limonin on DM basis and can be incorporated in commercial broiler ration at @ 1%. The performance of broilers improves considerably.
