Fire-chasing beetles bring life to newly burned forests. They use the infrared emitting from the fire as a beacon to find each other. When they arrive, there will be thousands of other beetles to mate with and the females will lay their eggs in freshly burned trees! It just goes to show you… forest fires, while they can be disastrous for the humans living near them, are beneficial and even required for the survival of other native wildlife.
