Charly Cox on Living with Bipolar Disorder and Writing As a Form of Therapy | Happy Place Podcast

Описание к видео Charly Cox on Living with Bipolar Disorder and Writing As a Form of Therapy | Happy Place Podcast

Mental health awareness advocate Charly Cox was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder 2 and PTSD at 17 years old. Since then, Charly Cox has been focusing her writing on destigmatizing mental health, using poetry to chart her own coming-of-age experiences. As well as helping her cope with her own mental health struggles, Charly uses her poetry to remind others struggling with similar issues that they're not alone.

In this chat with Fearne, Charly explains what it means to live with Bipolar II, including both manic highs and depressive lows, and how writing helps her make sense of her thoughts.

Do share if you think it could help someone else. What do you think about this week's episode? Have you tried writing down your emotions and thoughts? How does it make you feel?

Charly Cox is a British poet and writer. Cox is a mental health activist. She serves as an ambassador of the mental health charity MQ Foundation.
