What If I invest in it for the long term will I still make money? Say sir, I invest in Ayala Corporation for 10 years will it work? Is it still a good approach?

Does Peso Cost Averaging Work?
What If I invest in it for the long term will I still make money?
Is it a good approach to invest in Ayala Corporation using Peso Cost Averaging?


Principle

Peso Cost Averaging removes the emotion behind investing
Peso Cost Averaging allows you to be disciplined
Peso Cost Averaging forces you to save money if you are a massive spender
Peso Cost Averaging allows you to accumulate even if your money is still small

So in principle I believe it has its merits because not everyone will want to time the market or come massively in when markets drop big. Not everyone also will have a large sum of money.

Will you still make money over the long term?

Let’s look at this table.

This assumes that you invested in Ayala Corporation at the end of each month, for the past decade and you put 10,000 Pesos each month regardless if the market was good or bad.

Please remember, for this example, I will not include dividends, let’s just assume you take out all the dividends and spend it on Shopee each year and I will not include it in our computation. This will just be a pure capital appreciation play. For those who want to see what we did for dividends you can check my video here on how to earn safely and massively.

For simplicity also, we will disregard the board lot and also it would mean that there will be times that you will spend roughly below 10,000 Pesos or roughly higher than 10,000 Pesos but regardless the whole merit of this computation is you will invest somewhere around 10,000 Pesos each month regardless.

Also please do note since we are at an era where we saw the markets drop massively this year, there’s an expectation that the stock price measured now is lower as compared to say doing it when the market was massively high.



Throughout the 10 year period, you invested a total of 1.19 Million Pesos and it gave you a total of 2,005 shares. If you sold all of your shares at the end of August 2020, you would have been 1,470,555 Pesos.

You would have earned 280,555 Pesos and that would have been around 23.5%!

It will still give you a gain but what I believe will be massive over the long term is if you buy a stock that will give you massive dividends because you get compensated while waiting.

Ayala Corporation is not historically a stock that gives massively high dividends.
