In this video we are showing you how to remove and replace the Airbag Module on Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner First Generation. There are 2 ways to do that. You can do it without removing the center console and you can also do it by removing the center console. If you remove the center console you will have more room to reach and remove the airbag module ( air bag module).
Even if the dealer tells you that a used Airbag Module will not work they are wrong. A used module with the same part number and not being in a wreck works perfectly fine. We replace ours with the one from the parts car.
This procedure should work on Ford Escape Air Bag Module, Mercury Mariner Airbag Module and most likely on Mazda Tribute since they share the same platform with the Escape.
The Ford Escape in the European Market is known as Ford Maverick.
