SpiceJet Flying experience

Requesting all aggrieved flyers to come forward, who have faced inconvenience due to the services of SpiceJet.

This is what happened with us:

We were supposed to fly at 01:50 hours on 05.02.2023 via the SpiceJet flight SG 59 to Dubai from Mumbai and the flight was delayed by over 3 hours due to "operational issues" as mentioned in the emails received a few hours prior to the flying time (specifically at 23:06 hours on 04.02.2023 and at 01:57 hours on 05.02.2023).

When we asked the SpiceJet check-in counter personnel, we were informed that the flight was delayed due to non-availability of a Captain. When we went towards the boarding gate, we were attended by the onground SpiceJet Staff, Mr. Tharanath Shetty, who ended up giving us various reasons for why the flight was delayed. The reasons are stated as below:

1. Due to medical emergency the flight had to be re-routed to chennai airport

2. Due to runway closure at the Mumbai International Airport, the flight was not allowed to arrive

3. Other technical issues

The SpiceJet personnel was continuously lying/manipulating and trying to evade answering the questions and was only stalling till the flight arrived. The same staff member also implied that SpiceJet was above the DGCI rules.

Due to your delayed flight me and my family along with several other passengers have undergone tremendous stress, discomfort and also actually incurred monetary loss (airport transfer taxi exps, morning breakfast, etc).

When we tried to get in touch with the SpiceJet team for further recourse, we were offered Rs.500 SpiceJet vouchers. After such ridiculous service, SpiceJet thinks that they can get away with this by providing us SpiceJet vouchers so that we end up spending more for their services for their own mistake and inconvenience caused by them to the fellow passengers.
