Drums were perfectly tuned for the period and that is me (Rich Pagano) playing. You do not need expensive mics or pre amps to get this sound! I decided to pull out certain mics, some a bit pricey, some not:

Kick1: TLM 103 - alt: MXL makes some great affordable large diaphragm mics that can give similar results.
Kick2: Geffel M71- alt an SM57 would give similar results. This mic is about point.
Snare - SM57
Overhead: CAD LRG Diaphragm tube mic - alt: MXL or budget AKG - use your ears, tho!
behind the floor: CAD non tube LRG Diaphragm - alt: same as above.
Room: CAD large Diaphragm - alt: AKGC4000
Mic pres: Vintech and UA (overhead and behind the kit)
Compression: simple Waves plug in...about 3-4.1 ratio...slow attack/fast release.
EQ: a b it of high end and a high pass pulling out anything below 60hz.
Reverb: D-Verb (pull down the high end! Add the low pass filter)
