------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Understanding these three laws of patience will change your life.

Do you feel like nobody cares about cultivating virtues anymore? The ancient wisdom that granted us superpowers to navigate the world has been forgotten. The biggest reason we keep making mistakes is that we're too reactive. We panic, try to fix problems immediately, or ignore them completely. When things don’t go our way, we get frustrated, angry, or lose interest. Building anything of worth becomes impossible because it gets boring when it doesn’t turn out as expected.

All of this could be avoided if we cultivated patience.

Welcome to the Superhuman series. I’m Taeed the Spirit, and I’m here to teach you how to cultivate virtues—the only thing that will last with you forever. Virtues are the skills that unlock our superhuman potential, and today we’re diving into one of the most powerful virtues of all: patience. Patience allows us to let go of the need to control and be at peace with the natural course of the universe.

So many problems could be solved with patience because most of our problems are of our own making. We think we need to solve everything ourselves and end up causing more problems and internal suffering. To reach a superhuman level of decision-making, we must master the art of letting emotions and thoughts take their course and settle so we can operate without being controlled by emotion. Patience allows us to consider our emotions without immediately reacting to them.

To become patient, you must understand a few natural patterns the universe makes. I call these the 3 laws of patience.

Law #1: Nothing is personal
Think about how dynamic your internal world is—your history, trauma, habits, likes, dislikes, and feelings. How reliable and consistent are they? Don’t they change all the time? You could be heartbroken and depressed for weeks, but one call from your ex saying they miss you can fill you with energy and optimism. People who cultivate patience recognize that when something happens, it’s never directly because of you. When someone is rude, it’s a projection, not a reflection of you. Patient people know that resolving problems with others involves allowing them to express their unconscious behavior and greeting them with genuine acceptance. By giving others space to be truly seen, you can elevate their awareness and experience the natural joy that comes from mastering patience.

Law #2: Outcomes are secondary
People who cultivate patience understand that outcomes are secondary to their internal state. What does it matter where you are or what you have if you’re already happy? If you’re at peace internally, external circumstances like your house, income, or traffic don’t matter as much. Patient people acknowledge and accept their feelings, letting negative emotions pass through them and transmuting them into natural joy.

Law #3: Expectations are meaningless
Many of us live in moderately stable environments and take action that works in our familiar world. When things don’t go as planned, we get upset. But the patient know the universe is much more chaotic, and our sense of control is artificial. The universe has existed long before us, and we didn’t choose our lives. That’s why the patient do their best but have no attachment to expectations.

Join me in embracing these laws of patience and unlocking your superhuman potential.
