On Bread, Beards, & the Evolution of Orthodox Polemics with Allan Ruhl

While most of the arguments against the Catholic Church from Eastern Orthodox today revolve around the Papacy, and occasionally arguments of the Filioque, this wasn't always so. Around the time of the Great Schism in 1054 the argument centered primarily around the Latin use of unleavened bread in their Eucharist, clean shaven priests, and in their eyes, certain Latin "Judaizing" customs. Allan Ruhl, who scours primary source material, joins us to discuss these grievances of the Greeks at the turn of the millennium and why they don't use them anymore even though the Latin Church still practices many of them.
