Xinjiang Kanas - Driving in The Most Scenic Area from Jiadengyu to Hemu

Welcome back to continue our China road trip, this time we will go driving in Kanas, Xinjiang, one of the most beautiful places in West China from Jiadengyu National Forest Park, to Hemu Scenic Area, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of rivers, forests, meadows, pastures and snow-capped mountains along the way, to experience a very primitive and natural ecological environment.

Xinjiang Provincial Highway S232 starts from Burqin County and ends at Jiadengyu in Kanas, so it is also called Kabu Highway. Kabu Highway passes through Gobi Desert, valleys, pastures and rolling mountains. The hillsides on both sides of the road are full of yellow wildflowers, and some are flat green like carpets. Along the undulating shape of the mountains, pine trees are winding, with snow-capped mountains in the distance as the background, and white clouds floating in the blue sky. Sometimes you can see groups of cattle and sheep on the hillside, grazing between the pine trees, or taking a leisurely walk or playing with each other, formed a harmonious natural picture.

"Jiaden Valley" means "Jiaden's house" in Mongolian. It is a demonstration base for closed-mountain afforestation in Burqin County. It has a nursery of more than 80 acres, mainly growing seedlings of spruce, Siberian larch, snow spruce, and Scots pine. Legend has it that Jiaden was a mysterious hunter who was kind and generous, and the name was given in his memory.

Hemu Scenic Area mainly refers to the area under the jurisdiction of Hemu Township, which is the northernmost township in western China. Hemu Village, where Tuva people who have maintained the most complete ethnic traditions live in a concentrated manner, is one of the famous Tuva villages and the farthest and largest village among the only three remaining Tuva villages (Hemu Village, Kanas Village and Baihaba Village). It has a total area of ​​3,040 square kilometers. There are more than 1,800 people in the township, including more than 1,400 Mongolian Tuva people, mainly Mongolian Tuva people and Kazakh people. Their wooden houses are scattered on the mountain grasslands.
