Fertilizing Our Corn Ground: Regenerative Farming

Today we begin to fertilize our corn ground. We are applying 3-4 tons of broiler chicken litter to our corn ground, to provide a good source of nutrient for our upcoming cash crop. We apply chicken litter because we feel it gives us more "bang for our buck" and is a naturally occurring by product from broiler houses. By using litter we get our "big three" macronutrients, as well as many micronutrients and organic matter without having to rely on commercial/synthetic fertilizers.
