A drone fired by Yemen's Houthi group hit Israel's Ramon Airport, near the southern city of Eilat. The attack halted operations at the airport for two hours and left two people injured. The Houthi’s military spokesperson said that the attack was a part of a broader drone operation that targeted other sites in southern Israel. Earlier, the Israeli air strike on Yemen's capital, Sanaa, killed the Houthi Prime Minister, Ahmed al-Rahawi, and several other senior officials.
The Houthis continue to control Yemen's northwest and most of its Red Sea coastline. With that power and the use of drone technology, they've been able to destabilise global shipping in protest against Israel's war on Gaza. The group is determined to continue its military operations in support of Palestinians. But is that power sustainable under US and Israeli strikes, or are Israel and the US underestimating the Houthis' force?
