The Legend of Lylah Clare (1963) Tuesday Weld *Full Episode*

Описание к видео The Legend of Lylah Clare (1963) Tuesday Weld *Full Episode*

A 1963 DuPont Show of the Week teleplay starring Tuesday Weld and Alfred Drake, directed by Franklin J. Schaffner.

Lylah Clare was the most exciting Hollywood star of the 1930’s, a wild combination of Jean Harlow and Clara Bow, until she died under suspicious circumstances. Many years later, Louie Zakin (Alfred Drake), the director who first discovered Lylah, decides to make a biopic about her. He casts Elsie Brinkmann (Tuesday Weld), an inexperienced young actress, as Lylah and tries to mold her into an exact copy of the dead star. He succeeds almost too well, and soon it begins to seem as if Lylah has really come back from the dead.

In 1968 The Legend of Lylah Clare was remade by Robert Aldrich as a film, starring Kim Novak as Lylah. The remake was a notorious flop. Many consider the original to be the superior version of the story.

(The sound cuts out for a few seconds at about 49:00, I had to snip out a copyrighted song.)
