Shoutout to everyone in the DCC discord, and my lucky charm Adam, who helped me out and cheered me on especially after I got 4 runs within 2 seconds of Misha's 16:43. Also to Ryan, who got me to start racing his times and got me back into this game. Finally was able to snag this great run after a 3 and a half hour session.

RTA is largely outdated for DCC, since exiting levels doesn't technically complete the levels, In game time (sum of all segments) is the best way to reduce disparities between loading screens as well as have the levels save times. This is the current fastest run, but hopefully more people will start running! This is an awesome game and the community is super friendly.

Sub 16 is 100% possible, but it's going to take going for a few extra risky skips. This run was by no means perfect, and normally I would've restarted since my USA wasn't as good as I want it to be but after only getting 4 runs in 3 hours to Japan I just started accepting a few seconds lost in USA.

----------------

Time Losses:

USA 1: Lost about a second with some subpar movement, not going for the slide cancel halfway through the level, and hitting my head on one of the bumpers.
USA 2: Pretty much perfect with the route I was going for, there's a few ways to save about a second or two but I couldn't hit them consistently and the any% route isn't optimized enough to force me me to go for them yet.
USA 3: There's a slightly faster route on the very first segment that I abandoned because it was proving too tricky for me on such an early level.
USA 4: I lost about 2 or 3 seconds missing the underneath jump as well as going for a slower more consistent strategy in the very beginning. At this point I had sacrificed some minor early game time saves in favor of getting more runs to the later levels where I could go for some of the longer skips.
USA 5: In general my movement isn't great on this level, I bump my head on the slide jump over the fans and then later on you can jump a bit faster on some sections but this was the route I felt was most consistent for me. No real time loss on this one though.

EU 1: Minor time loss right off the start and on the trampolines following it. The skip to jump all the way to trampolines is something I just added to the run so I still wasn't 100% sure on the distance. My PB has a cleaner trampoline section, but this was a great level.
EU 2: I'm not sure if stopping on the speed boosts is faster, but I couldn't get it consistently enough to warrant going for it. Obviously I also miss the chain trampoline which is honestly something I've never done before. Threw off my timing for that next part. What happened at 55 seconds is my game dropped a ton of frames for some reason so I just totally missed the timing. About 3 seconds lost on this.
EU 3: You can jump up faster on the moving platforms + missing the fan slide jump is the only major time loss.
EU 4: You can bunny hop on the moving platforms to do them like 2 seconds faster at the beginning, I honestly don't know why I didn't do it, think I was just playing super conservatively after hitting the EU3 skip.
EU 5: More consistently my EU5 has been around 1:35, I got terrible luck with the RNG drop away platforms and I was a little thrown off going into those first paintballs. You can get a faster ascent on the climbing section but I was going for safety and haven't been able to hit it consistently. This is where the first major time save potential is: you can just jump from platform to platform at the end and it'll save about 5-8 seconds flat from your time. That one could probably be much faster.

JAP 1: I don't have the ability to hear game audio with my setup, so it's hard to time the starting boosts on Japan. I miss sliding under the rope and you can jump straight to the second trampoline at the beginning. The death around 55 seconds has genuinely never happened to me, I lost all momentum for some reason. Probably around a 5-7s time loss on that.
JAP 2: Nothing major, just some minor stuff.
JAP 3: Awful start obviously, you can hit the first trampoline and go all the way to the final one if you time the jump properly but I just bungled it. You can also jump on each trampoline section just once if you wanna go super risky but no need. The last section can probably save around 7 seconds if you go for slide jumps over the bumpers, it's not too difficult but no shot I'm going for that.
JAP 4: For some reason I really thought the wheel would like just start going before you jumped on it lol, I also totally mistimed my jump on the platform section. Overall about 12 seconds lost on this level.
JAP 5: PB! Was super nervous about choking another run in Japan but was so ecstatic to see a 1 second time save instead.

Overall one of my best runs ever, but sub 16 is absolutely possible. Hopefully more people start running this game and start bringing that time down!
