Our growing understanding of the universe started from zero. As Mr. Dionysios Simopoulos states, we have only filled in a very small part of the bank. There is still so much left for us to discover. During his speech, he expresses his passion and shares his outstanding knowledge regarding the mystery beyond the borders of our planet. // Short Bio: Dionysios Simopoulos was born in Giannena on 8 March 1943. He studied Political Communication and Astrophysics at the University of Louisiana, USA, where he worked as Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Education Director and Planetary Director at Louisiana Arts and Sciences Center. He worked as the Eugenides Planetarium’s Director from 1972 until 2014. He has served as President of the European Union for Astronomy Education, a member of the Board of Directors of the International Planetarium Society, Secretary General of the Union of European and Mediterranean Planets, a partner of the Royal Astronomical Society and the International Society of Planetariums. He has written the scenarios of two series of video courses in Αstronomy and Astronautics, a series of six books for youngsters entitled "The Secrets of the Universe," a series of 14 astronomy books for Digital Planet performances. In 1996 he received the highest honorary distinction of the International Planetarium Society for his contribution to the international astronomical education, while in 2006 he was honored with the "Academic Phoenix" of the French Ministry of Education. In 2012 the Greek Physicists Association honored him for his significant contribution to the popularization of science in our country.
