The Bay Area's Single Transit Pass | Clipper BayPass

More than 30,000 Bay Area residents were provided unlimited access to all bus, rail and ferry services in the nine-county region for a two-year pilot program to study the impact of a single transit pass.

Early results from the pilot show that Clipper BayPass users take an average 35% more trips than their peers, with the participants having used their unlimited travel passes for more than a combined 2 million transit trips through June 30.

The Clipper BayPass was distributed to participating students at San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, the University of California’s Berkeley campus and Santa Rosa Junior College, as well as residents of several affordable housing communities managed by MidPen Housing. The next phase will involve partnering with Bay Area employers.
