The Department of Justice has announced a delay in releasing the full set of records related to Jeffrey Epstein, revealing that more than one million additional documents were recently discovered. The postponement comes despite the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law requiring the government to disclose all investigative materials tied to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell by a set deadline.

While DOJ officials argue the delay is necessary to properly review and redact sensitive information to protect victims, members of Congress from both parties are accusing the administration of violating the law. Lawmakers are now calling for an independent Inspector General audit to determine how the deadline was missed and why the records were not accounted for earlier.

At the same time, the initial document releases are already raising questions, containing references to high-profile individuals and previously undisclosed details about Epstein’s private flights. As pressure mounts, the fight over transparency, accountability, and trust in government institutions continues to intensify.
