The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
Cloudy and much cooler weather, with light showers, is spreading along the east coast into KwaZulu-Natal Province today. Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms stretching from North West into Gauteng, the Highveld of Mpumalanga, and northern KwaZulu-Natal. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning, and hail, which could lead to localised flooding and infrastructure damage in parts of Gauteng Province, southern Mpumalanga Province, central and eastern North West, southwestern Limpopo, and western KwaZulu-Natal. Light rain is expected in Durban today, contributing to the cooler conditions across the region.
