Cannondale Scalpel HI MOD 2024 riding experience

Back with an in-depth look at the Cannondale Scalpel Hi-Mod, now with over 30 hours and 600 km of trail time!

After spending more time with this bike, I’ve made a few changes to optimize the ride:
Pedals: Switched to Crankbrothers for a more reliable connection
Tires: Already on the third set – started with Vittoria Peyote, moved to Pirelli Scorpion XC RC, and now riding with Vittoria Barzo XC on the front and Mezcal XC on the rear for the ideal grip and speed combination.

The Scalpel Hi-Mod is nothing short of impressive:
Descending: Increased security on descents, with better control and confidence
Climbing: This bike proves itself as a strong climber, even on tougher gradients
Frame & Geometry: The frame feels stiffer and more durable than the previous iteration, with a slightly longer geometry that adds stability, though it’s a bit heavier overall.

Worth the Upgrade? If you're already on the old frame, it still holds its value. But for those on the hunt for something new, the updates on this model are a solid improvement, especially if you can snag a good deal.

Stay tuned as I continue testing this setup and share more insights on how the Scalpel performs in different conditions.
