Introduction:
Indulekha hair oil is marketed as Ayurvedic hair oil for long and strong hair. Made with herbs, it is said to be free from harsh chemicals like parabens, sulphates, silicones or synthetic dyes.

Ingredients:
Though it has several herbal ingredients, Dr John Watts specifically lists four main ingredients that are used in its preparation. They are:

1) Bringhraj
2) Amla
3) Almond (Vatadha)
4) Svetakutaja

Bringhraj:
Known as a hair growth promoter, Bringhraj is a well-known herb used traditionally in India for hair oil. “The minerals and anti-oxidants present in the herb help in hair growth promotion,” said Dr John Watts.

Amla:
Amla brings vitamin C to the hair oil but more importantly, it helps in increasing blood circulation that helps in hair growth. It also has high antioxidant properties that prevent hair damage.

Almond (Vatadha):
The role of Almonds is important as it brings the advantage of protein.

Svetakutaja:
Svetakutaja is high in anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties that help the hair from diseases.

Scientific Research: Efficacy
Though Indulekha hair oil has good properties that promote healthy hair, Dr John Watts pointed out that there are no scientific journal publications to back its claim as a promoter of hair growth. “However, there are good testimonials from users who claimed to have benefited after using this hair oil,” he explained.

But, can it promote hair growth on bald spots? “No, unlikely. This is not achievable with Indulekha hair oil. At the most, one can get baby hair growth and the existing hair can get stronger. You cannot expect full-length hair growth on bald spots,” informed Dr John.
He urged the viewers of his YouTube channel to write in the comments if they have benefited after using the hair oil.

How to Use?
Explaining its usage, Dr John said that using the applicator that comes along with the hair oil, one needs to apply the hair oil at least thrice a week and continue it for 4-5 months for good results. “For more information about its usage and benefits, one should consult a qualified Ayurvedic expert,” informed Dr John Watts.
