New Orleans Saints training camp news is on the menu for this edition of Saints Now by Chat Sports after the Saints kicked off their joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams. This will be the first joint practice for the Black and Gold in the Kellen Moore and Tyler Shough era. The Saints are preparing for their NFL preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and getting the opportunity to practice against one of the NFL’ top teams in the Rams under head coach Sean McVay along with star wide receiver Puka Nacua. The Saints will be looking for some new names to step up in NFL training camp after the Saints injury report is starting to fill up with guys like Will Clapp, Bub Means, Alontae Taylor and Taysom Hill expected to miss significant time in the 2025 NFL season. Saints QB battle still tight as Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough both had ups and downs
Kellen Moore got to compete with one of the best head coaches in the NFL in Sean McVay
Saints waive QB Hunter Dekkers, Sign DE Jeremiah Martin
Rattler took 1st team reps, but both QB’s rotated throughout practice
MVP of the day - Chase Young: had at least 2 SACK, 2 Passed Batted
First string defense won comfortably against Jimmy Garapolo
2nd team defense struggled to stop the run, 1st team had ups & downs
