Back in December when the season was just getting started there was really only one place that was getting snow: BC and more specifically, Revelstoke. So our team headed up there to explore why this place is so fabled in ski culture. Obviously the mountains and the snow totals are legendary, but there seemed to be something deeper at play. After meeting with our operator partners we began to understand why, and after getting out in the heliski terrain after a 60 cm storm it was clear to us why the Revelstoke community and all who visit develop such a deep connection to these mountains.

Part of Revelstoke’s lure is its semi-remote location. Nestled in interior British Columbia between the Selkirk and Monashee ranges, it sits directly in a prime storm track that pulls moisture inland from the Pacific. The geography and topography of Revelstoke area results in one of the deepest snowpacks in North America. Cold temps, massive vertical, and expansive alpine terrain create ideal conditions for everything from storm-day trees to big, glaciated heli lines.

But what really sets Revelstoke apart is the balance between world-class terrain and an authentic mountain town.
