You can’t tell me that Allen Iverson’s game wasn’t poetic. Watching him move back in the day was like poetry in motion—the fluidity in his handles, all while making it look so smooth.
Look at him in this clip, having the ball in an isolation on the right wing behind the 3PT line. As he approaches closer to the defender, he raises his head and eyes at the rim and puts his off-hand close to the ball as if he was going to just rise up and shoot. Once this happens, he quickly lowers his height and his chest down while doing a smooth left-to-right between the legs.
As he accelerates out of the between-the-legs move and the defender tries to cut off his angle towards the rim, he stays low to the ground and quickly snatches the ball through his left leg while keeping the ball below his knees. This snatch gave him enough separation to square his feet back to the rim and bring the ball back into his shooting pocket with his eyes locked on the basket.

Once this happens, Iverson elevates over the late contest for the easy mid-range jumper, hitting nothing but net! Man, I can watch this clip all day—it was a beautiful move.
