[ Mission 9: Klingon Raiders ]

Captain's Log, Stardate 7498.7. The Klingons have sent raid after raid to our
outposts and bases near the Neutral Zone. We've been able to trace these
attacks back to an area near Outpost 5 where they've been hiding. Our orders
are to neutralize this threat before they cause any more serious damage to
our border stations. This assignment is clear cut -- seek out the raiders and
destroy them. The Admiral has assigned the USS Achilles to assist us in this
task.

Personal thoughts:
The USS Achilles is a Constitution Class Refit, classification Heavy Cruiser.
My main idea is to have the Achilles deal with the two Bird of Prey while I focus
on keeping the Destroyer busy. Unfortunately everyone wanted to party with my
Miranda for some reason! Must have been Taco Tuesday in the mess hall.

I recommend to keep reinforcing your shields more than using your auxiliary
power to empower your weapons. You'll want long-time endurance for this one.
Trust that the Achilles, true to it's name, can dish out and take more damage
than you can. Use that to your advantage.

Remember that between warps, you'll regain some shield strength but no extra
aux-power sadly. Well I suspect the reason in an in-game universe is that it
takes sometime to warp from one sector to the next, which gives the shields
time to recharge, systems being repaired and so forth.

Easy mission overall that can go very wrong.

[ Federation Light Cruiser ]

The Federation Light Cruiser is a Miranda class starship, same as the Reliant
in ST II: Wrath of Khan. It is a very potent ship. Reliable, good, balanced.
It's primary weapons are a set of 4 Type 2 Phaser arrays - Fore and aft.
And secondary are a pair of Mark II Photon Torpedo launchers, one fore and one aft.
This gives it a very balanced arm allowing you to broadside fire reliably which
is the Federation's preferred tactic, but when the situation calls for it you
can go all in with a strafe and dump of unloading firepower.

It's speed is noted as Average but that's still good, and it's shield is above
average for it's class, making it superiorly defended compared to it's Romulan
contemporary, but not the Klingon one. The Romulan Light Cruiser is above average
in speed, average shields, with a forward firing arc preference, and the Klingon
Light Cruiser is average speed, above average shields, but has a fore-preference
of firing arc. To deal with them, you'll want to be in their rear ends.

But what above average shielding effectively means is that the Fore-facing shield
will have a second layer compared to the rest, so you can take a beating from the
front a while longer. Be more aggressive.
