Happy Canada Day long weekend everyone!! John’s whipped up some delicious cocktails using Shrubs (not the plants – these tasty concoctions with fruit). He starts off explaining how to make – here’s his tips:

How to make the Shrubs:
Equal parts fresh fruit, vinegar and sugar. John typically uses apple cider vinegar (he used this in the Mango Habanero one. FYI only use 1-2 habaneros). He used balsamic vinegar in the Strawberry Rhubarb one, and white balsamic vinegar in the Ginger Peach one. Combine the fruit with the sugar and let is sit until it turns into a syrup. Next add the vinegar and cover then put in the fridge for 3 days.

Here's the recipes:

Bourbon Ginger Peach
1.5 oz Ginger Peach Shrub
1.5 oz Bourbon
3-4 dashes Orange bitters
Shake with ice and top with club soda.

Mango Habanero Margarita
2 oz Silver Tequila (we used Mezcal)
1 oz Cointreau
¾ oz Lime juice
Mix ingredients in glass with ice and enjoy!

Strawberry Rhubarb Cocktail
1.5 oz Gin
.5 oz Rhubarb Gin Liqueur (we used Sheringham)
Shake with ice and then top with Prosecco and garnish with basil.
