Above all else, Dr. Ram Kalus just wants to make the world a better place.

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Dr. Ram Kalus grew up in New York City, graduated Boston University for his undergraduate and medical degrees, and has been in practice in South Carolina since 1990. He founded Plastic Surgery of the Carolinas in 1997. Having trained at Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, UMass Medical Center in Worcester, and the Hospital for Sick Children in Paris, France, Dr. Kalus is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Kalus distinguishes himself from typical plastic surgeons by emphasizing the importance of enhancing, rather than altering, a person's natural beauty. His approach focuses on artistry and a deep understanding of individual anatomy, aiming to achieve subtle yet impactful results that help clients feel more confident in their own skin. He believes in a personalized consultation process, where he listens to the patient's desires and concerns, ensuring that any enhancements align with the person’s unique features.

Additionally, Dr. Kalus prioritizes patient education and the ethical implications of cosmetic surgery. He advocates for procedures that enhance natural characteristics rather than create unrealistic or overly dramatic changes, fostering a positive self-image among his patients. This philosophy resonates with those looking to improve their appearance without losing their identity, ultimately allowing them to showcase their authentic selves.
