Major security breach reported inside the Lok Sabha on Wednesday afternoon when proceedings in the house was ongoing.

This becomes significant as 13th December also marks the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament terror attack, in which 9 people, including 8 security staff, were killed.

Hours before today's incident, PM Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid tributes to those killed in the 2001 attack.

At around 1 PM, one man jumped from the visitors' gallery and ran into the chamber of Lok Sabha. A second person also followed him. Both deployed canisters spewing yellow smoke. Both were cornered by MPs. Om Birla said that an investigation will take place into the incident.

Opposition has slammed the Govt over security breach.
