Lagoa do Fogo is a volcanic lagoon in the island of São Miguel, Azores (Açores). In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the Azores Islands are a land of many wonders of the world. São Miguel island offers endless opportunities to be amazed at countless natural wonders, and is considered by many as one of the most beautiful places in the world. This walking tour explores one of the absolutely must see attractions of the Azores: Lagoa do Fogo / Fogo Lake. This lake was formed inside one of the many volcano craters in São Miguel, at an altitude of 575 m.
We start near one of the viewing points / miradouros of Lagoa do Fogo, and go up and down a nature trail that unfolds majestic and stunning views over the lake. As we go further down, you will see a usually hidden side of the lake, only visible by going down this trail.
This is a walk not to be missed!
