Today we're going to be taking a look at part number ML5900D. This is the Master Lock Safe Space portable storage box with combination lock. The portable locking box is going to provide secure storage for money, cell phones, passports, and other small items that you may have. It's going to feature the four-digit numerical combination lock. It has the built-in cover, and it's going to protect the combination dials as well as the push buttons. This button over here releases the cable. This button over here opens up the lid.

The cable is going to let you secure the box to a fixed object for extra security, or you can wrap the cable around the box and lock it. The combination is going to secure the cable lock, in addition to the main chamber, so it's going to prevent the buttons from being able to be pushed down, and again it's all about just extra security. Ideally you could take the cable, loop it around a secure object, place it back into its hold, scramble up the combination, and we're not going to be able to push the buttons to disengage the cable or open the lid. The cable in this position can also be used as a carrying handle, if you want to use it that way. The overall unit's going to feature a nice, durable design. It's very lightweight. It's water-resistant, not waterproof.

There is a difference between those two. Water-resistant means it's going to do just fine when exposed to weather conditions like rain or mist, or whatever, or if you spill a drink on it you don't have to worry about all the water getting inside, or all the liquid. It's not waterproof, so it's not designed to be submerged under water for an extended amount of time. It's got access ports located on each end, so there are holes that go into the main area of the box. Those access ports are designed to let you use headphones or charging cords while the box is locked and closed.

Just keep in mind it is water-resistant, but it's not waterproof. The outer shell of the unit is going to be made from a high-impact ABS plastic construction. Very strong, very durable. We're going to take a look at the internal components real quick. It's got a really nice design to it. It's going to feature shock-absorbing foam padding on the inside, so that's going to provide a lot of cushion.

That way we don't have to worry about our gear becoming damaged if we move the box around with items in there. The overall dimensions, starting with the overall length. That's going to give us a measurement of about 9 and 1/2 inches. Overall width, that's going to give us a measurement of about pretty close to 5 inches. Then the overall depth, or height, that's going to be about 2 and 1/4 of an inch. Now when it comes to setting the combination, or resetting or changing the combination, we need to open the protective cover to reveal the combination dials. Make sure that they're rotated to the default combination. Push the door, or excuse me push the button to open up the case. Then you're going to want to locate the light grey set combination lever on the top of the combination lock on the left-hand side. It's going to be this little lever right here. Now you want to move the lever to the right, and hold the lever in place. While holding the lever in place, you move the dials to your new combination, and then release the lever, and then the safe will be able to unlock with the new combination that you just customized.
