We take off on another Wisconsin hiking adventure, this time hiking the Ice Age Trail Grandfather Falls Segment. This is one of Wisconsin's best hikes. The trail is filled with beautiful views as it runs along the Wisconsin River. This is a great opportunity for those looking at doing some Ice Age Trail Backpacking Camping at a tiny little campground called Camp New Wood, located directly off trail with direct access to the Wisconsin River at the New Wood County Park. Overnight camping at this little backcountry campground is free between Labor Day and Memorial day, making the Grandfather Falls Segment an ideal destination for shoulder season Ice Age Trail backpackers. Come along on our Wisconsin backpacking adventure as we explore this Segment of the Ice Age Trail, take in the views and have fun along the way!
