William Mathew "Bill" Tilghman Jr 1854 - 1924 was a career lawman and gunfighter during the wild west days of Kansas and Oklahoma. He was a city marshal in Dodge City, Kansas. Deputy U.S. Marshal in the Oklahoma Territory where he was famous for capturing the famous outlaw Bill Doolin in Arkansas. Sherriff of Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Chief of Police in Oklahoma City and special investigator in Cromwell, Oklahoma. In addition to that he was also served as an Oklahoma State Senator. Bill also recounted his memoirs in a film in which he directed and starred in as himself. He was shot and killed by a corrupt prohibition agent in Cromwell, Oklahoma. He is buried in Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma.
