So apparently I’m a brinepunk mercenary now? In the late 1800s?? With a gun made from barnacles and bad decisions?? Because Abyssus just dropped me into an underwater nightmare full of ancient ruins, unknowable horrors, and enemies that look like someone fed a squid a Victorian thesaurus and a curse.

You “discover the secrets of a forgotten civilization” by sprinting through collapsing cathedrals of coral and shooting everything that moves (and most things that shouldn’t). It’s fast-paced, it’s rogue-y, it’s gorgeous in that “should I be scared or aroused by this temple?” kind of way.

Think Doom got stuck in BioShock’s drainpipe and mutated into a haunted speedrun. That’s Abyssus.

So tune in as I scream, reload, get lost, probably drown, and try to pretend I understand the lore while blasting ancient fish cultists in the face.

Because if you’re gonna die in a roguelike, it might as well be underwater and dramatic as hell.
