Mortise Lock

• The lock trim (which is the handle sets)
• A strike plate (which supports the holes placed in the frame for the latch or deadbolt to extend into)
• The keyed cylinder for operating the lock
Cylindrical Lock
A cylindrical lock is installed through the door with a knob on both sides. Each time the latch is turned, the latch retracts. Its best advantage is its easy installation. This is because a mortise pocket does not have to be made inside the door. These locks are most commonly found in the residential doors.
Tubular Lock
Tubular locks can be installed on all types of doors. They are mostly used in offices and houses. It is the most preferred lock because of the security it offers while being easy to install and replace. The door just needs standard bore holes for it to be installed.

Commercial Door Locks VS Residential Door Locks
Just like the exterior and interior materials of a house are dissimilar, so are the fittings and little details. What goes on the outside might not be suitable for the inside. And similarly, the types of buildings define the type of fittings to be used. This means that door levers and their locks for commercial and residential purposes are different.
What is this difference to begin with? Although the locks used for both these purposes function in the same way, they are designed to fulfill different requirements. Keep in mind that a commercial space will have more people using the doors, coming in and going out at all times. This is why it is important that commercial locks have a raised standard for locks. They have to be heavy-duty and durable. Locks can be judged by the grade given to them. These grades are based on the locks stability and how long it will last. The grades are grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3.
