In the Stundenglass manual, there's a reference to these being an 'upstem' but it also seems like they could be referred to as a 'downstem' or a 'diffuser.' Whatever they are called, they can be tricky to untwist if they are stuck, and here's how I did it for what it's worth. #thehigherthingsclub
