Lawmakers from both parties stated that Hong Kong's autonomy and freedom have been completely undermined by the Chinese Communist Party, and Washington must adjust its policies to prevent Beijing from infiltrating the U.S. system by exploiting Hong Kong's former legitimacy. After passing the House of Representatives, the bill will now be sent to the Senate for consideration and voting
