A towering, 65-foot Christmas tree greets guests entering World Showcase with messages of peace and goodwill translated into 40 languages. The tree is lit during a special ceremony, featuring the Voices of Liberty choir, fanfare trumpeters, and storytellers from around the world. An extra flip of the switch and a magical bolt of electricity illuminates Lights of Winter, turning the World Showcase Plaza into a virtual winter wonderland.

Lights of Winter is a dazzling display of 30,000 lights that literally envelops Epcot guests in a canopy of sparkling lights. These light arches, which cover the bridge between Future World and World Showcase, bring a popular European tradition to Epcot '94.

Storytellers, international holiday embassadors, from around the world join together each evening for the lighting of the Epcot Christmas Tree at Showcase Plaza: Mexico - The Three Kings Melchior, Balthazar, and Gaspar; Norway - Julenissen; China - The Monkey King; Germany - Saint Nicholas; Italy - La Befana; American Adventure - Santa Claus; Japan - A street vendor of 'Daruma Dolls'; Morocco - An authentic Taaria Drummer; France - Père Noël; United Kingdom - Father Christmas and from Canada - Canada's Santa Claus.
